Flight AA 331 boarded some 154 passengers including six crew members and en route to Kingston – Jamaica, it stopped over in Miami. Throughout the journey passengers complained of turbulence. On reaching Jamaica, the weather was found to be a rough one. Pilots tried to land the flight AA 331 safely however the air-liner broke the fence marking the boundary of the air port. The plane stopped just a few feet away from the ocean. During the crash landing air liner received heavy damages and the right side engine was separated from the body of the liner.
Miraculously there was no fatality. In all, 44 passengers were taken to the hospital. As of the last news 40 passengers received minor injuries while 4 received serious injuries. Considering the magnitude of the accident, the damages are unbelievably minimal.
Passengers onboard AA 331 said that as plane lowered to land on the tarmac it experienced some serious turbulence. During landing it bumped twice.
Jamaican officials immediately took it to the Airport to look at the toll of the accident. The injured passengers were rushed to the nearby hospital and the authorities ordered to check if somebody is missing. Luckily no fatality occurred. The flight AA 331 received so much turbulence that the crew cancelled serving drinks to the passengers.
Jamaican authorities made it clear that their first priority is to provide medical facilities to the injured and the investigations into the incident would be launched once all the injured would come out of danger.
