I admit, I am always on look out for role models, people who stand the test of times. Perhaps we all do – we are just afraid of admitting it. Abby certainly is one of those role models. As she entered the competition, it was difficult for me to imagine a person who has been through such a trauma and yet has kept his courage and will alive.
Abby has lost his husband and two children in senseless car accident. Though Abby did not have the support of her family, her fans like me were praying for her all along.
Seeing Jillian training her, often it became difficult to distinguish between trainer and the one being trained. Jillian later confessed that she was not sure if she would be able to perform her job properly.
But the climax of her abilities, her real potential came out as team Black lost a competition and had to vote for a member to go home. Sure enough Abby offered herself as the person to be eliminated. She assured everyone that winning is not on her agenda. She joined in because she needed something to cling to a purpose for her to carry on with the life and the competition has given her much needed spirit and renewed energy and above all a belief in herself.
She encouraged the team members by saying that she is sure that her weight control would not end here and she would continue losing weight at home.
It was really heart breaking moment when Shay said the Abby is her role model and a mom as her own mother was an abusive parent.
We also come to know about her accomplishments, she has lost some 160 KGs and has started motivating others to follow her footsteps.
