This year as the Abu Dhabi Triathlon came to a finish there was another first as Eneko Llanos, a competitor from Spain won first position in the lengthy triathlon. The Abu Dhabi Triathlon was completed in a total of six hours, thirty-four minutes and thirty-seven by the Spanish woman who found the distance to be a bit of a challenge but was overwhelmed by the sites that she got to see along the way. The Abu Dhabi Triathlon is an event that is organized by the Tourism Authority of Abu Dhabi to attract people from all around the world and it runs over a distance of two-hundred and twenty-three kilometers. Llanos finished a whole minute ahead of the runner up from Luxemburg, Dirk Bockel.
The prize money for the triathlon was kept at quarter of a million US dollars and contestants from around the world came to take part in this epic triathlon. The spectators as well as the other competitors were surprised when the Spanish athlete took first place in the lengthiest race that she has ever taken part in.
Now Llanos has become confident in her skills and endurance and while giving her winning speech she told spectators that she would definitely come to participate in the same event next year as well. Llanos was actually in sixth position by the time she crossed the two-hundred kilometer mark of the race being a total of fifty-one seconds behind but then she pumped up her cycling to gain in on the leaders and took first position just a few kilometers before the races finish.
