Ada Yonath, 70-year-old has won the prize with two American scientists for “plotting the ribosome — cell’s most multifaceted machineries in the body — at the atomic level. Congratulations for the first Israeli woman the fourth woman to win the Nobel Chemistry prize and to get exceptional success ever. She recollected her by saying, she never thought that she would reach to such a position that her country felt proud for her because her family and parents never of prestige to get a chance of appreciation and recognition.
Yonath’s revolutionary work in accepting the formation of cells proteins was shared by American George Feher, both holds the honor of sharing the Wolf Prize too, this noble prize of chemistry was third “Nobel” this year.
This Nobel Prizes comprise a $1.4 million(10 million kronor) award, a medal, diploma, noble prize winners are invited to a prize distribution ceremony that took place in Stockholm every year in December on the death anniversary if prize creator, Alfred Nobel.
Japanese and American scientists have ruled the chemistry Noble award in previous years. Chemistry Noble prize for 2008 was shared by a Japanese Osaka Shimomura and by America researchers Martin Chalfie and Roger Tsien.
She is a strong supporter of women and encourages them to involve in science. She is of the concept that women make up half the population and can get success in every field of life with courage and hard work.
