Banglore, India—Akshata Murthy 29-year-old daughter of IT tycoon and CEO of Infosys Narayana Murthy got married with her Stanford classmate Riski Sunak this Sunday on 30th August, 2009, in a ceremony that took place at Hotel Leela Palace.
Over three hour ceremony included a traditional Bangala Indian Wedding, with a traditional vegetarian food on reception; this celebration will be followed by another reception that will be held in New York in September.
Akshata Murthy, the bride was dressed in splendid Indian traditional robs know as “Ghagra-Choli” of orange colour, whereas the groom Riski Sunak was dressed in an elegant Black Suit. Both Bride and Groom welcomed the guests, to the impressive Ballroom of the Hotel, which added a personal feel in the event.
The guest included more than some heavy weight name such as Cricket icon Vinod Kambli, Chairman Wipro “Azim Premji”, ex-Badminton champion Prakash Padukone, Biocon Chairman and M.D Kiran Mazumdar Shaw and several other renowned Politicians and other famous personalities were at the wedding ceremony, according to a rough estimate over 1,000 guests were present at the ceremony.
The 1.4% stakes which Akshata Murthy holds at this time are of 160 million worth or more, she has worked as an associate at Silicon Valley’s venture capital firm Siderian Ventures, whereas her husband Riski Sunak is a British National with Indian roots.
