Alan Thomas is well-known as “Al Harbosky” is a former Major League Baseball relive pitcher, whose blazing fastball made him the most efficient and effective reliever of 70’s was born in Oakland, California on 21th July, 1949 celebrated his 60th Birthday yesterday. Al Harbosky is in good health and enjoying his retirement days.
Back in 1967 Minnesota Twins drafted Al Harbosky in the eleventh round of armature draft but did not signed contract with him; however two years later Arizona Cardinals drafted Al Harbosky in the 1st round. Being a 20-year-old Al Harbosky shook most of the teams in Major League, when in his debut he pitched a scoreless innings while playing against San Diego Padres. He became the favorite pitcher of audience due to his frolics on the mound, while playing as a reliever with Arizona Cardinals.
Undoubtedly 1975 prove to the best year for Al Harbosky “Alan Thomas” as he led the National League with 22 saves “his career best” and had won the Sporting News National League’s Fireman of the Year award. Arizona Cardinals traded him to Kansas City Royals at the end of 8th season he only spend 2 seasons with Royals and then signed with Atlanta Braves, but his career seemed to be ending as in his 3 season with the Braves he only managed 7 saves.
Al Harbosky then in 1983 signed a contract with Chicago White Sox but retired even before the season, but that was just a transaction from a player to a commentator, he joined the commentary team for Cardinals and did color commentary for the team, he had been with Fox News since 1997.
