Once again a bogus Amber Alert deceived thousands of people; the first bogus Amber Alert was launched back in last February is still making the Twitter rounds, with a retribution. However, the only change in this false Amber Alert is that the text now states the baby girl abducted is three years old instead of seven.
The false Amber Alert once again spread like wildfire through Twitter, internet messages, e-mail and mobile phone text messages, originating distress for the authorities.
This time the Amber Alert says “A 3 year old girl was kidnapped by man driving a newer silver truck in Idaho Falls. The license plate reads 72b381. Please keep forwarding”.
However, there are different visions of the alert regarding cities and states too, like if you are from Idaho, you might have received the message “newer silver truck in Idaho Falls” and if your are from Woodward, Oklahoma you might have received the message like this “A 3 year old girl taken from Woodward…”.
Spreading in all the country within few hours time, it took may be 48 hours to travel from Fresno to Minnesota and from California to Louisiana and several points in between, authorities say that some person is using the Amber Alert to raise a false alarm.
The Utah attorney general’s Amber Alert Coordinator Paul Murphy said it is being spread around by those people who actually want to help and that someone who raised this bogus amber alert is preying on people’s good intentions.
