They thought it was the remains of a dog wrapped up in a carpet, but when they took a closer look they discovered it was actually the remains of a human being, it appears that when Amy Kucsmas called her daughter before her death her killer stood nearby her. Amy Kucsmas a 36-year-old Mt. Oliver woman struggling with a drug addiction was found dead wrapped in a carpet at Wilkinsburg’s Hunter Park.
Amy Kucsmas sister-in-law Gina said, she called on 11th July and begged to talk to her children, she also gave them a hint that she is on the North Side of Pittsburgh right before her death.
Kayla, Amy Kucsmas daughter said her mother told her that she is going to die tonight; she said her mother was crying hysterically when she heard the voice of a man in the background shouting and screaming on her mother, and then the phone hung up.
A carpet found dumped in a wooded area of Hunter Park in Wilkinsburg, where children play, there are basketball courts, children play grounds and there is also a baseball field in the park. In a place where children gather and play in a summer day there is a death nearby just few feet from the hunter park basketball field a body laid wrapped in a carpet.
David Trent a public works employee said he and his coworkers loaded the carpet on to their front loader and took it the nearby garbage pile and there they cut open the carpet and they saw the body, he said only shirt was on the body put nothing else underneath the shirt, he said he was scared and speechless but called Allegheny County Police.
Erik Moon lives right above the spot where the body was found, this path leads right towards the ball park, he said he and his family are very troubled by the incident.
According to the investigators body was dumped quite some time ago, they are calling it a homicide, while they used a tattoo and dental records to identify the body and hope to get a DNA from the tape that might lead them in the right direction, to determine the cause of the death they will need an autopsy report, which will be available in couple of days.
