Anaplasmosis is the name of a serious disease which caused through a “Richettsial Parasite” of Ruminats, Anaplasma sp. The life form occurs in the white blood cells and transmitted in the body through natural means. This organism can also be transmitted with the use of tattoo, surgical, castration instruments and Hypodermic Needles which are not germ-free. Anaplasmosis is also known as tick-borne disease.
Recently, a Dakota County young child died due to “Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever” on early this month. It is one of the most rising tick-borne diseases in Minnesota. According to the “State Health Department”, it is an uncommon disease in the Minnesota but can be increase by an ordinary wood tick. Although the Health Department has not provided any other detail but they reported that child has no basic health problems. The child perhaps was bitten by a contaminated tick inside the county as described by the department.
However, there were more than 1800 cases recorded in all over the United States regarding Rocky Mountain spotted fever. Most cases occurred in western, eastern and southern states. Although the disease is uncommon in the state of Minnesota but “American Dog Tick that also known as Wood Tick can increase it is quite common here.
“It’s another reason people should take very good precautions against tick bites,” said Melissa Kemperman, a Health Department expert in tick-transmitted diseases.
According to the MDH (The state agency responsible for human health protection in Minnesota), approximately fifty cases of “POW” have been diagnosed in the Canada and United States since it 1st showed up in Powassan, Ontario in 1958.
