Born on the twentieth day of June in the annum 1945, Anne Murray has sold as many as fifty-four million copies of her albums. Anne Murray, born in Springhill in Canada, is known for producing songs which fall in the categories of Country, Adult contemporary and pop. Since starting her musical career Anne Murray has received as many as four Grammy Awards, three American Music Awards and the most amount of Juno Awards ever given to a single person. She is the record setter and proud owner of twenty-four Juno awards, a record that she holds to this day.
Anne Murray prides herself with her extraordinary vocal and guitar playing skills. Her first performance goes back as far as the year 1965 when she performed a couple of songs which were recorded on “The Groove.”
Anne Murray studied at the University of New Brunswick and while she was studying she was invited to audition for a show produced by CBC. Though she did not get a role through her first audition, she was called again a couple of years later in 1962 by the same producers who ended up giving her a role for the Singalong Jubilee.
Anne Murray has been singing songs since she was only seven and has continued this passion for over forty years of her life. She is thought to be the inspiration behind many a Canadian Divas which include Alanis Morissette, Shania Twain and Celine Dion.
The town of Springhill where she was born was a small town known for coal mining. She was raised to a family involved in medical practice as her father was a doctor and her mother a registered nurse.
