A remarkable 1982 flick that was nominated for 2 Oscars and won 10 different awards. Annie is charming little girl living in an orphanage. The conditions are pathetic but they are not hard enough to break the dreams of Annie. To add fuel to the fire the orphanage is run by an inhuman bully Miss Hannigan. She derives pleasure in the process of putting little girls in extreme hardships. As is the case with the children living in orphanages each girl dreams of being found by her the parents or being taken away to some foster home. Annie is not to be deterred by the tyrannical behavior of Miss Hannigan. She plans of running away by getting some help from a friendly dog. She is captured and taken back to the orphanage.
Her dream is fulfilled when she is chosen to spend some time at a wealthy home. Warbucks prove to be not so friendly people but Annie and her innocence make Warbucks love this little wonder. As their hearts soften towards Arnie, they make a plan to find Annie’s real parents. They announce a prize money for anyone, who comes up with the information about Annie’s parents.
All this may be very good for Annie but Miss. Hannigan is hell bent on getting the prize money even if that means compromising Annie’s life.
At this time we start wishing that Annie could live with Warbucks forever. It so happened that Miss Hannigan is apprehended and Annie’s parents are found to have died. She is adopted by Warbucks.
