Antonio Burks was in serious condition this Monday after being shot during a robbery earlier in the day. 29 years old Antonio Burks undergo a surgery at the “Regional Medical Center” at Memphis in the evening but he was taken back to the operation room at around 10 O` clock due to internal bleeding as described by the police. Antonio Burks was shot in the lower torso.
According to the Memphis Police Lt. James Grigsby, this incident happened between 4:00 to 4:30 p.m. as 3 men in a purple or blue “GMC Equinox or Envoy” pulled up to a house at 353 LaClede. This house is located at the southeast of the intersection of Fourth Street and Walker Avenue in South Memphis.
Police said that Antonio Burks and 4 other men were outside the house. The 3 robbers took cash from all 5 then shot Antonio Burks and another man (who was not recognized but was in secure situation late Monday). Police also described that Antonio Burks was taken to “The Med” by private vehicle whereas the other injured person went by ambulance. The robbers appeared to select their victims arbitrarily not specially targeting Antonio Burks. However, police had nobody in the custody till late Monday.
