Arturo Beltran Leyva has been killed in a raid by Mexican law enforcement agencies. The killing has come as Obama administration vowed to help Mexican authorities overcome wide spread violence by the drug lords. Arturo Beltran Leyva is considered the chief of a group called Los Zetas. We have posted a video on our site showing sheer brutality of the group as a man is killed by strangulation and each and every step is filmed.
Mexican police receiving a tip attacked an apartment in Cuernavaca, Arturo Beltran Leyva was killed in the fire exchange.
The group led by Leyva is considered the worst of all and he was called the “chief of chiefs”.
Obama Administration approved five helicopters to combat the rogue elements. However as the war against drug lords has been intensified the remaining factions launched an offensive against police and civilians. Mexican police discovered the heads of six law enforcement agents that have been cut from the bodies.
Arturo Beltran Leyva joined Los Zetas after being separated from another group of gangsters. Los Zeta comprises of former military men.
The shuffling is believed to have sparked the renewed violence and killings. Within last three years some fourteen thousand people have succumbed to the drugs related violence.
Beltran Leyva was on Mexican Police’s Most Wanted list. The violence is also the result of heightened surveillance of the borders through which the drugs were smuggled into U.S markets.
President Obama has praised Mexican government for stepping up the offensive against drug lords.
