Australian Open Women’s Final

Serena William world’s number one ranking female has won the “Grand slam title” for the 12th time. She has won the game by playing 3 sets of 6-4, 3-6, 6-2. Henin gave her tough time it was not an easy win for the “top seeded” Serena. Serena adopted an aggressive strategy from the start of Australian Open Women’s final and kept Henin on defense. At the start of the game Henin seemed to be on equal footing and got the 2nd set. In third set Serena proved to be a real champion with a strong power play and got the set.

Serena played so well that even Henin appreciated her beautiful strokes and admitted her excellence suited to be a champion.

Serena sustained her power play in the last four sets and won the Australian Open Women’s final. She took two hours to defeat Henin who was supported by audience. The champion fell on her back to celebrate the win. She admitted that the game was tough and both ladies were there to prove themselves that they did.

Serena has leveled Billy Jean King’s record by winning the Australian Open Women’s Final. Now she holds her own record of Five Australian open titles. She as female player is top receiver of prize money in history.

Serena is intelligent and comes through difficult situations as winner. She has a strong will power she endured the (2004-06) two years period with patience when it was considered that she has lost her place. She has made a splendid comeback and none of the contestants could come up to her level.
