Bachelor in Paradise is a comedy of a romantic nature which was released in the Annum 1961. The cast includes many famous actors of the time including: Bob Hope as Adam, Janis Paige as Dolores, Paula Prentiss as Linda, Lana Turner as Rosemary and Jim Hutton as Larry.
Bachelor in Paradise has been nominated twice, the first nomination coming under the category of Best Original Song for the Academy Awards while the second nomination coming under the category of Best Actor for the Golden Globe Award.
The plot of Bachelor in Paradise revolves around a romance expert (Bob Hope) who is given the task of writing an article on the sexual habits and behavior of Californian women who reside in the suburbs. To get down to the very essence of the story Bob moves to one of these locations in the suburbs which is called Paradise. All the women in paradise are extremely beautiful and have just been married and have a tendency to be attracted by Bob. This causes some concern amongst the husbands of these gorgeous beauties but the worries are put to rest when they realize that Bob has already been claimed by the only other single resident of paradise who goes by the name of Rosemary Howard (Lana Turner).
Hal Kanter is responsible for helping with the writing of the screenplay as he was the co-writer who helped Valentine Davies write the screenplay. Bachelor in Paradise is an adaptation of a story written by Vera Caspary who has also written a world renown story which went by the name of “Laura”.
