A moderately large Baja earthquake rattled southwest U.S today. A 5.8 magnitude Baja earthquake threw people in state of agitated confusion today. A recent report shows that the Baja earthquake was felt in Los Angeles, San Diego, Tijuana and Phoenix too.
The earthquake’s epicentre was located in Mexico that rattled Baja California. The epicentre was detected 25 miles from El Centro, CA with the magnitude recorded by U.S. Geological Survey was of 5.8. The aftershock recorded by U.S. Geological Survey was of 4.8 magnitude.
According to some reports the Baja earthquake was of 5.9 magnitude. However, according to U.S. Geological Survey the earthquake that struck the area was no higher than 5.8.
Baja earthquake was felt all the way up to the Coachella Valley and in Mexicali area too. No information is available immediately about injuries, but damages have been reported in several different areas including Mexicali. Walls were cracked and windows were broken with the force.
Warning of a potential tsunami has not been issued by West Coast and Alaskan Tsunami Centre. However, the intense shaking could have created landslides under the water.
The U.S Geological Survey officials have been monitoring the Baja earthquake ever since it commenced at 10:48 A.M.
