Don’t think this is some kind of banana drink, not at all; Banana Shpeel is a new presentation different from traditional shows. This is not a circus, or a musical or a variety show, or even burlesque or some floor show. Banana Shpeel is something new in its origin, a roller-coaster mix of styles that immingle comedy with tap, hip hop, unconventional dance and humor, all connected by a storyline that erupts a series of weird adventures.
Cirque du Soleil and MSG Entertainment are going to present the high ranked performance of their new theatrical production “Banana Shpeel”, Written and directed by Tony Award winner David Shiner (Fool Moon), on the season finale of the TV talent competition “America’s Got Talent” airing on Sept. 16 on NBC . David Shiner started his career in 1984 with the well known circus festival Cirque de Demain, afterward Bill Irwin join him to produce the thunderstruck two-man show Fool Moon, which played from 1992 to 1999,and received many prizes for this production.

Banana shpeel is specially choreographed with 16 performers, including British reality TV star Susan Boyle, famous for “I Dreamed a Dream” Broadway’s Annaleigh Ashford and Michael Longoria and many other will open for its world premier at The Chicago Theatre Nov. 19, and will continue to early January 2010. It will air in New Yark, on Manhattan’s Beacon Theatre beginning Feb. 4, 2010.
