Belgian Malinois is being searched by several people using the internet. The reason for it to be included on the Google Trends page is that a case regarding the death of a Belgian Malinois is under discussion in a court in Miami. The dog was killed four years back while being trained by a sergeant named Allen Cockfield. The man is now charged with doing animal cruelty and felony count of killing a dog of the police department.
The man got arrested in the year 2007 and he was taken for investigation by the Miami-Dades Police Department. The investigation was done by the internal affairs unit. In the past the Sergeant had spent more than twenty years in the police department as a canine trainer. The name of the Belgian Malinois dog which he killed was Duke. He was not obeying the commands of his trainer the day when he died. This made the trainer angry and he delivered some harsh blows to the dog. He lifted up the dog and kicked him with full strenght about five times. The dog could not sustain the hard blows and he started to shiver and he died with in a few seconds of the brutal beating. The whole scene was witnessed by another officer present at the spot.
The defense attorney states that the Belgian Malinois was trying to harm his trainer and that’s the reason why he was given the punishment. Cockfield did not mean to harm the dog and al he did was just self defense.
