“I’m not asking you to keep me here so I can play. I’m asking you to keep me here so I can live” Shay said at Biggest Loser. Shay Sorrel and Daniel Wright were the unlucky ones on Biggest Loser to go home. Shay was completely unable to hold back her tears at the outcome.
Shay spent much of her childhood with foster parents. As Shay looks back at her past, she says that weight has always been a problem for her. Moreover as her elder sisters are also overweight, she never received the motivation to control her weight problem.
As Shay courageously took part in Biggest Losers, she contemplates at her eating habits and blames her overeating to family values in which she was brought up. Whenever there was a special event in the family, it was celebrated with lots of food and specially cooked delicacies. Much of the food was high in calories but she never cared. Shay also started cooking at a young age because it was thought good for a girl to cook the meals in the family. And as she started cooking it became easier for her to prepare the meals which she liked and that made her eat even more.
Shay Sorrel is a community worker by profession. She has turned her tragedy into motivation to make others realize that no obstacle is insurmountable. Shay has become very active to meet the needs of three part time jobs that she holds.
Weight has become a big problem for Shay as she wanted to appear perfect before the people to whom she is trying to impart strength and motivation.
