Thursday night marked another outage of Blackberry service. Blackberry service remained down for many hours during Thursday night. Presumably the service was down as a result of maintenance being done at server side, however the news has not been confirmed as yet. The problem affected the users in North America and some parts of South America.
Blackberry services were restored later however the company cautioned that the users may experience significant delays as the servers would be busy sending the emails that have been stored during the service outage.
The service provider also assured consumers that the technicians are actively looking into the cause of problem and resolving it on the priority basis. The fault seems to have affected only the e-mail services and other communication services remained available to the consumers. Representative of the company confirmed that the problem has not affected the browsing.
As Blackberry service went down the users started posting frustrated messages on twitter and other social networking utilities. A user posted that this is the way RIM is sending Christmas Greetings to its client. Yet another user viewed that the e-mail service is the hallmark of Blackberry and if the company can not reliable provide the basic service, how it intends to cater to the users in coming times.
The event was well received by the iPhone and other cell phone users that have Droid platform on the phones to taunt Blackberry’s loyal customers.
The event occurring on Thursday night is not a solitary one, just five days ago a similar problem had hit the Blackberry services.
