The fugitive, Maday, who overpowered the officers and escaped from the prison van this Thursday, robbed a local bank in Bloomingdale. Maday was arrested after the Bloomingdale Bank robbery.
On Friday morning, the local police received a phone call that the First American Bank in Bloomingdale has been robbed by a man who called himself Maday. Police chased him for hours and finally surrounded him when his car crashed at the intersection of North Avenue and Route 59.
Maday was being transported to Kankakee jail for his hearing in which he was going to be sentenced for 13 years in jail. The criminal was transported by two investigators aged 59 and 60. The investigators were former body guards at the jailhouse. One of them was driving the car while the other was sitting with Maday in the back seat. 39 year old Maday overpowered the ‘old’ policemen and hence grabbed the gun from them. He then hand cuffed them and left the car in the parking area of a departmental store. Next morning, Maday carjacked a woman. He then robbed the bank. An emergence shutdown was called in the area and schools were closed for some hours. Police chased the criminal and got hold of him when he crashed the robbed car.
Maday was involved in several robberies. In 2007, he robbed the same Bloomingdale bank and escaped with $7000.
