Considered to be one of the greatest hockey players of all times, Bobby Orr has received the order of Canada which is the highest order that can be awarded to anyone on behalf of the Queen of Canada. Born on the twentieth of March in the Annum 1948 would make Bobby Orr just a month shy of his fifty-second birthday.
Bobby Orr’s career involved him playing for two ice hockey teams, the first being the Chicago Black Hawks while the latter being the Boston Bruins. Bobby Orr has, in his lifetime, won two Stanley Cups with the first cup being won in the year 1970 when the Boston Bruins defeated the Saint Louis Blues team in the cup finals and the second coming just a couple of years later with the Bruins defeating the New York Rangers in the year 1972.
Bobby Orr, who is six foot tall and measures two hundred pounds in weight, played the position of defense and was awarded the Conn Smythe Trophy for scoring the match winning goals in both cups. Apart from winning two cups Bobby Orr has taken the Boston Bruins to the finals in the year 1974 but unfortunately the team could not win the cup that year.
Bobby Orr, born in Ontario, showed his skills on ice as early as when he was four years old. He would play a game called shinny back then and was excellent in skating. The Boston Bruins discovered him while he was playing a local ice hockey tournament. The team paid an amount of one thousand dollars so that they could sponsor the team and gain rights over his career.
