Brookdale Lodge Fire

Brookdale Lodge fire is under control according to authorities, the Brookdale Inn & Spa a renowned hunted hotel that caught on fire late in the evening around 5:15 P.M, but the blaze soon caught the back part of the hotel, at around 6:15 P.M the blaze was raised to a third alarm.

According to the reports the fire do not have appeared to hit the front end of Brookdale Lodge, however, the building section that burned was two-story high section of the building apartments, the guests section seemed to receive no damage.

Brookdale Lodge employees were fighting the blaze inside the building while the firefighters combating the fire in trees, one helicopter and two air tankers were also used to help keep the blaze spread wildly.

Over 100 fire fighter from several different departments of the area were used to fight the fire and to keep it from spreading around, no information of injuries to any person staying or living at the Brookdale Lodge have been reported, however some firefighters suffered slight injuries.

Recently hired sales manager of the Brookdale Inn & Spa Michele Blum said she lives just couple of doors down from where the blaze stopped burning.

Michele Blum said that the accommodation area where people can hire rooms for the night had been remodeled. Workers residence and one other building had yet to be finished.

She said they were operational to re-establish the hotel to its magnificence of the 1920s when it was one of the most admired lodges in the country.

Highway 9 and Clear Creek Road are blocked.

In 2007, Sanjiv Kakkar bought the lodge for $5.3which has 46 guest suites.
