Brooke Wilberger

Brooke Wilberger was kidnapped by some unknown person on the morning of 24th May, 2004 at the time she was staying with her sister during her summer vacations. It is believe that she was abducted from the parking lot of Oak Park Apartments in Oregon. It was greatly believe that Sung Koo Kim has abducted Brook Wilberger during initial investigation but later he was dropped as suspect. Meanwhile, another abduction happened on 30th November, 2004 from New Mexico University, the student later identified her abductor as Joel Patrick Courtney.

Police finally associated Beaverton County, Oregon resident Joel Patrick Courtney with the abduction of Brooke Wilberger, he was charged for motivated murder, sexual abuse, abduction and rape in August of 2005. Joel Patrick Courtney faced charges in New México court for the abduction and raping of a 22-year-old student from University of New Mexico. He was found guilty on 2007 and was sentenced to 18 years in prison and 5 to 20 years on parole, other than he was also registered as a sex offender.

In 8th April 2008 Joel Patrick Courtney was transferred to Benton County, Oregon for Brooke Wilberger case, his first appearance in the Benton County Courthouse was in 9th April 2008. Joel Patrick Courtney is facing 2 abduction counts and 14 counts of motivated murder.

Recently Joel Patrick Courtney has been granted to change of venue, he is reconsidering. Brook Wilberger murder case lawyers said that Joel Patrick did not have enough time to reconsider about the implications of a venue change and last Wednesday morning the lawyers of Courtney has filed the motion to withdraw their request.

A reward of $15,000 is offered by Brooke Wilberger’s family, who ever recover her body.
