“Establishing a tradition of excellence” is the motto of the Brookwood High School in Georgia, United States of America. The school was established in 1981 and the plan was started in 1977. The plan of the School like Brookwood was basically based on the objective of providing the excellent education to the overcrowded area of Parkview and South Gwinnett. The facility was specified by a committee which was formed from the elite education class around the country at that time especially for this purpose. The first principle of the school was Emmett Lawson.
The name of the school was selected on the basis of location as it is located in between Hollybrook and Dogwood Road. The official colors of the school are golden and maroon, which were selected by the students.
At the time of opening of the school in 1981, the management had basic objectives in their mind, to develop the community and society, and not only to provide quality education with excellence, but also to excel in the field of extracurricular activities, and athletics.
Both the goals were achieved with the no time of 20 years. The Brookwood has a strong educated society, which always promote education and the school always encourage the sports and other activities.
The Brookwood School emerged as one of the best school in Atlanta. The average percentage of the student, who enters college after studying from Brookwood School, is around 80%. They got the student population more then 3000. They specialized and acknowledged wisely in the field of debate, broadcasting, performance and fine arts. The program of journalism was also awarded.
