Bruce Wasserstein, a famous businessman from Wall Street and Chief Executive Officer of Lazard Ltd, was taken to the hospital due to heart problem.
Wasserstein was reported to be stable but in a serious condition. The company gave a statement on Sunday that he is on the way to recovery, which is quite encouraging news for Bruce Wasserstein, his family and for the company as well.
61 years old Wasserstein joined the company in 2002 and he was nominated as CEO in 2005. His contract with the Lazard Company will expire in 2012.
The hospital administration and the Lazard company was unable to provide more and detail information about the heart problem of Bruce Wasserstein. The further information and details about his condition may be publicized in very near future.

Bruce Wasserstein is also the part of the Harry & David Holding Inc’s board of directors. He also serves a private merchant bank, named Wasserstein & Co as a Chairman, other than his services for the Lazard Ltd.
He was the business icon for Wall Street from 1980s; first he served the First Boston Corporation than he established his own investment bank named Wasserstein Perella Group Inc. he also remained the Chief Executive Officer of the bank from 1988 to 2001. Finally he sells it off to Dresdner Bank AG of Germany.
Wasserstein is having a net worth of around $2 billion, according to the Forbes magazine.
