Headline: Carlos Dunlap has been suspended from the team for Saturday’s SEC Championship game.
It’s official now. Carlos Dunlap has been suspended and will not be participating in the Saturday’s big game. The Florida coach Urban Meyer has announced the news during Tuesday’s practice match of the game. Urban said, with distress, that Carlos will not be playing in the Saturday’s match. ‘Carlos obviously made a very poor decision,’ says Urban. Florida junior Justin Trattou is one of the expected players who will be replacing Carlos for the SEC Championship match. The absence of Carlos from the team is not in favor of the team as he is one of the best players of Florida Gaters. He was nominated the most outstanding player of 2008′s Bowl Championship Series game. He is an important player for the field-goal block unit of Florida. Urban Meyer says that the gap, created by Carlos’ absence, would be filled by strategically combining a couple of players in that unit.
The decision of Carlos Dunlap’s suspension was made in connection with his arrest. Carlos Dunlap was arrested last Saturday morning and was charged with driving under the influence. The police arrested him at 3.25 a.m. in the morning when his car stopped at green signal. The police officers observed the car for several light cycles and when no movement was made they checked it. Police found Carlos asleep on the wheel. He smelled alcohol and failed a sobriety test miserably. Police arrested him and sent him to Alachua County Jail where he is waiting for an appearance in front of jury.
Carlos Dunlap has played for Fort Dorchester High School and he has a brilliant game record with 105 tackles and 24 sacks.
