There was a big fire in the Carlton Towers of Bangalore today as a short circuit at the seventh floor lit the floor alight. It is not yet confirmed whether the short circuit took place on the seventh floor but evidence obtained thus far makes this the only possible conclusion. The Carlton Towers which houses many offices was in a wreck by the time the firefighters arrived at the scene but it is good news that the fire had been maintained to a certain extent.
With reports of the fire at the Carlton Towers a total of six fire fighting vehicles made a hasty approach to the scene but it was too late for five of the people in the building who thought that it would be better to jump out of the building. Those five who jumped out were declared deceased and I am sure that it will come as a great moment of sadness for their families. The five people who jumped for obvious reason had jumped from the fifth floor from where they could not possibly have survived.
The fire fighters did there job when the rescued the entire inhabitants of the Carlton Towers just a few hours after the fire broke out at four-thirty in the afternoon. The injured personnel have been taken to the Manipal Hospital where their wounds are being treated. The commercial business center Carlton Towers is now being explored by the fire fighters to see if anyone is still inside and may be in need of help.
