Chad Gerlach 35-year-old former homeless and drug addict, who came back from his addiction not only won the two stages of the “Tour de Nez” but won the title too. Chad Gerlach was invited on Insight, a daily news magazine program on Capital Public Radio by Jeffery Callison couple of weeks back and exactly two days after his interview he proved the world that he is in to win by claiming the victory in the opening stage of Tour de Nez, which held in Truckee and Reno, California.
Chad’s revival from drug addiction is convincing, nearly 20 years ago he was the part of United States Olympic Training Program in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He needed this victory badly after fighting with his addiction he fought well to claim his victory in the Tour de Nez.
In the overall Omnium categorization, Chad Gerlach had an anxious finale, as Graham Howard came within inches to take the red leader’s jersey away from the Velo Vie/Form Fitness rider, but with rock-hard 10th place standings on the final stage, Chad froze his overall win.
Chad Gerlach said, he just want to enjoy racing it would be really great if I clam any position within the first 10. He also said that Cycling is a constant struggle. Chad Gerlach has won $3,000 for the overall title.
