Charles Rangel, a NY Democrat, is cautioned by his chamber’s ethical committee for his visits to Caribbean. He is the chairman of House Ways and Means commission.
The commission decided that he broke the principles as he went for the visits to conferences during 2007 & 2008 patronised by the Carib News Foundation. This foundation accepted donations from corps especially to invest in the conferences.
The commission told that although they did not get a proof that Charles Rangel was cognizant of the financing, the rest of his staff knew about it & he was accountable for the cognition and activities of his staff in the functioning of their functionary responsibilities.
