Cheeseburger Soup is a creamy thick soup that is full of energy and combines the deliciousness of beef and cheese. The soup is great to meet the energy needs of growing children or to keep you warm in chilly winter nights. The basic recipe of the soup remains same that is the use of beef and cheese, however with the rest of the ingredients you can play. If the soup is prepared properly, even its look, are so appetizing that the family members would not be able to resist it. The soup is also a great serving idea to your special guests.
To make the soup, you would need following ingredients:
- Half lb beef (hamburger)
- Half cup onion (chopped)
- Half cup carrots (shredded)
- Little celery (chopped)
- 1 tsp basil
- 1 tsp parsley
- 4 tsp butter
- 3 cups chicken soup
- 4 cups of potatoes cut in cubes
- On fourth cup of normal flour
- 2 cups of cheddar or velveeta cheese prepared in cubes
- 2 cups of milk
- A little (almost one fourth of a cup) of sour cream
- Melt a little butter in a frying pan over a medium flame put vegetable and cook the grated beef. You would have to cook till the beef is brown.
- Add potato cubes and chicken soup and cook add basil and parsley also. Cook for 15 minutes.
- Take butter and make it thick by adding flour and milk.
- Add this mixture to the previously made one and stir. Cook till it boils and put cheese. When the cheese starts melting slowly add the sour cream. Do not overcook.
