Travis is the name of chimpanzee that has ripped of a woman’s face. The attack was so severe that Charla Nash (The woman whose face was ripped) remained suspended between life and death for many days. Charla Nash was on Oprah Winfrey Show to share her story with the audience and to warn general public about the threats animals like chimpanzees pose despite being domesticated. As Charla walked into the show she was wearing a yellow hat and attached to her hat was a veil that had covered almost all her face. She was wearing a breathing device around her neck. Her voice was muffled and not clearly understandable; as she spoke her words were shown in the subs on the screen. Oprah asked her consent to lift her veil off her face. And believe me just believe me nothing could ever have prepared you for the sight that was revealed. Just OMG. The scalp was hidden beneath a white cloth, there were NO eyes in the eye sockets, NO NOSE, NO LIPS, NOTHING, and it was a complete face off. The doctors operating on her had to build an opening, where her mouth was and an artificial passage for breathing.

She said that life is a constant struggle but she hoped that one day she would receive a complete face transplant along with the hands (She had also lost most of her hands in the attack).
