Clampi Virus has threatened online bankers all over the world. According to the news, cyber criminals have now created a deadly virus which is spreading rapidly all over the internet. The virus is posing serious threats to computer users living in UK and United States. The Clampi virus gets activated when the user browses a website with a hidden code. The code contains the virus which inculcates into your computer system. The Clampi virus is just another type of hacking virus which the cyber criminals are using to hack bank information of the users. Once installed in the computer, it keeps transferring the user’s back account information related to banking and other financial websites. Like other hacking viruses, Clampi also tracks user’s account IDs and passwords and relays them back to the hackers. Once the information is leaked, the criminals can use it to transact money from these bank accounts.
The virus originated from computers in United States and UK and is now spreading rapidly to machines in other countries too.
According to security analysts at Symantec, this virus is monitoring more than 4500 banking websites and tracks the information of users logging onto these websites. The security analyses have also revealed that the virus was present in the internet since 2005 but the recent version is more aggressive and more penetrating. They also said that Clampi virus is making English-speaking countries a target and have attacked various high-street banks in UK. They also made a prediction about a new wave of another version of the virus. Clampi Virus is also known as Ligats or IIomo.
