An announcement regarding the engagement of Colleen Shipman has received by The Beaver County Times from the parents of Colleen Shipman. Colleen Shipman was engaged with Bill Oefelein (a previous space shuttle pilot). At present Colleen Shipman and Bill Oefelein are planning their marriage in summer 2010 in hometown of Colleen Shipman just outside of Pittsburgh.
Colleen Shipman was attacked in a parking lot of Orlando International Airport by another previous astronaut (Lisa Nowak) with pepper spray in February 2007. According to the authorities, Lisa Nowak (who worked with Oefelein in the space programme) drove a thousand miles from Houston to Orlando to harass Colleen Shipman. Linda Nowak also tried to acquire into her car as prescribed by Colleen Shipman. Afterward Linda Nowak told the police that she just wanted to talk with Colleen Shipman.
Linda Nowak was wearing a trench coat, glasses and a wig. She was transporting a duffel handbag full with garbage bags, a bb pistol, four-inch hunting knife, surgical tubing latex gloves and rubber mallet. Oefelein told to Linda Nowak that he was breaching their relationship after when he dated with Colleen Shipman for about 6 weeks. The incident of Orlando took place just after a month after Oefelein told Linda Nowak. Colleen Shipman and Bill Oefelein live together in Anchorage, Alaska. Bill Oefelein is working in California as a test pilot. Colleen Shipman is working as a self-employed adventure author. Lisa Nowak lives with her 3 children in Houston and remains in the U.S. Navy.
