With economy in doldrums everyone is looking at cheaper options. When it comes to students the need to buy a budget computer with good features becomes more pronounced. According to the reports, college professors are advising students to go for Toshiba mostly.Dell already has its market share; HP Compaq was lagging behind in terms of budget machines to fill the gap in their product line.
They have come up with desktops Presario 4010f and 500B series. The laptop in the budget series is Presario CQ61z. the machines have been released under the brand name of Compaq. The price tag of the series would be ranging from $309 to $409 initially. Compaq CQ61z would be featuring newly released Microsoft Windows 7 platform. However the devices would NOT have an “Intel Inside” the processor is an AMD instead. With black and silver color combination the device looks elegant. The note book screen width is 15.6 inches with a 6 cell Lithium battery. Full specs of laptop have not been released to press yet according the technology gurus; it would not have much to look at as it is intended for the low income bracket consumer. A special discount of $100 is offered starting from October 18. The offer is valid till December 19. After the discount, the price tag stands at $ 399.
In my view with AMD processor and Windows 7, it would not be a first option on the list of the buyers. Public still likes XP OS very much.
