It seems recession has taken its toll on the tech buyers also. HP bending its knees before the demands of consumers has come up with budget solutions. The new series of machines would include desktops and laptop. Presario 4010f is Hewlett – Packard’s answer to the budget desktops.
Lost jobs, salary cuts and general depression in the economy has certainly deprived consumers of their buying power. Most of the buyers are on lookout for the cheaper options. Though full features of the series have not yet been confirmed, Compaq Presario 4010f is believed to come with AMD Sempron Processor, HDD capacity of 250GB and Nvidia GeForce Integrated graphics. As we all know that Sempron is the replacement of “Duron” and is competing with Celeron and has a very limited L2 cache. The compromise on L2 cache certainly makes the machines slower. Though a Sempron processor is believed to be superior to its Duron predecessor, AMD still has not achieved the popularity Intel has. All the models in the series have initial prices in the range of $309 to $409. Initial, because there is a discount on the machines, from October 18 till mid-December. The series is launched under the brand name Compaq and not HP. The machines come equipped with Microsoft’s Windows 7. The desktops also feature a DVD burner and RAM of 2 GB.
The features look excellent to me. What else can one expect in the price tag? Compaq Presario 4010f is surely a machine to look at. The sale of the machines would start on October 22.
