Last night it was Conan O’Brien’s last day of hosting on the sixty-year-old show “The Tonight Show on NBC”. After a long controversy on sharing time slot with another show the Channel finally made the decision to ask Conan to leave the show. Though according to Conan O’Brien it was a tough decision, yet he parted with the channel in a good way. The last week was star-studded on the show and the last show was the last feather in the hat by Conan Freebird song that was in fact an old song sung by Lynard Skynyrd in 1973. Ferrell was wearing jeans with a cowboy hat and long blonde wig along with his wife and Billy Gibbons, Beck Hansen, Conan O’ Brien himself played guitar, Max Weinberg and Ben Harper.
About Conan Freebird some think it was awesome and at the same time sad as it was the last show of Conan and some think Conan Freebird was simply awful as it was unoriginal and failed to create an impact.
Conan O’Brien hosted The Tonight show from June 2009 replacing Jay Leno; Will Ferrell was his first guest and so as his guest in the last show. It was observed that the show didn’t get the required response as the channel wanted during either of Conan O’Brien and Jay Leno tenure. And when the channel gave O’Brien the option to either move the show to 12:05 am time slot or leave the channel. O’Brien said that moving the show to the other day just because of another program will result in damaging the show. He opted to leave the network, though he will be on the safe side, winning public’s sympathy and receiving $33 million payout.
