Many of you might be wondering what the correct time is now since the Daylight Savings time has been put into effect and for you there is very simple technique that will allow you to adjust your watches correctly, all you have to do is take the time and move it one hour forward on your clock so if you clock reads two in the morning you can adjust it to three in the morning and that would be the correct time. The time change took place in the early morning hours today on the fourteenth of March 2010 and this new time will stay in effect till the month of November when it will return to the standard time on the seventh day of the month.
The new abbreviation for the correct time is EDT which stands for Eastern Daylight Time as compared to what it was called before which was Eastern Standard Time or just simply EST. The time is changed every year to take more advantage of the fact that the days become longer till the longest day on the summer solstice after which they start becoming shorter with each day. By the days becoming longer I do not mean that the hours in a day increase from twenty-four hours, rather the amount of sunlight we get in a day increases meaning that more can be done in the daylight hours without the use of lights and such equipment which is used to light up either houses, factories or office areas.
The time change was standardized in the mid sixties when the congress thought it would be best if the entire country followed a specific schedule when it came to daylight savings.
