MANILA, Philippines —A police spokesman stated to the reporters on Tuesday that there will be no closed roads on Wednesday for the funeral procession of former President “Corazon Aquino but motorists are advised to take alternate roads to stay away from heavy traffic”.
According to “Superintendent Rommel Miranda” a spokesman from NCRPO (National Capital Region Police Office), Cory Aquino will be moved to “Manila Memorial Park” in Paranaque City’s Sucat District from the “Manila Cathedral” in Intramuros.
The funeral procession will move from “Manila Cathedral” to Anda Circle and after then to “Roxas Boulevard”. Rommel Miranda further said that procession will proceed to “Osmena Highway” after turn left from “Quirino Avenue”. Then it will cross the “South Luzon Expressway” and take the “Sucat Exit” afterwards it will finally reach to “Manila Memorial Park”. The police spokesman also said that they arranged an appropriate security plan for Aquino’s Funeral. More than 800 policemen will be positioned for security and traffic measures as described by him.
“NCRPO, in its continuing security operation for the memorial services for the late President Cory Aquino, will provide area and route security as well as traffic management during the scheduled interment tomorrow [Wednesday],” Miranda said. Several Deutsche Bank workers will display yellow umbrellas because to watch the funeral procession according to the resources.
