“Fire is never a gentle master”
The Fire game started at north of Yucaipa, Crafton Hills on Wednesday and within no time shaped into a dangerous situation. The surroundings may also be hit by the danger.
The fire ignited from the dried grass along the Chapman Heights Road, around 04:45 pm and turned into a furnace and destroyed around 200 acres till 7:30 pm, reported by the lead agency on the fire.
The fire fighters were on their duty and they controlled around 40 % of the fire till 9:00 pm. Five air tankers sprinkled the water on the flame and subsequently they has been joined by the supertanker which dropped around 10,000 gallons of water at once. Even then the fire was out of control and three water helicopters accompanied the airplanes to settle down the fire.
They even required more machinery to handle the fire as it was getting stronger as it hitted the bigger plants which cause more solid smoke.
The fire departments spoke man Bill Petters said “It’s on the Mentone side of the Crafton Hills now”.
He further added “It’s hitting thicker vegetation, so it’s putting out more smoke”.
The classes at the Craflon Hill college are postponed till the situation gets better.
The school still has to investigate about the root cause of the ignition.
No injuries and structure damages have been reported yet.
