Istanbul hosted the seventh session of the Committee for the Review of the Implementation of the Convention (CRIC 7) was held in Istanbul, Turkey hosted one after the other convention firstly, the first special Session of the Committee on Science and Technology (CST-S1), from 3 to 14 November 2008 and now the (CRIC 7).
The CST-S1 and CRIC 7 sessions establish the foundation to put into practice the United Nations Conference on Desertification (UNCCD) 10-year Strategy, which was taken on by the parties at COP8 adopted the in Madrid in September 2007 and the plan is to build UNCCD a systemic and worldwide response to worldwide environment matters touching land and its ecosystems.
At the seventh meeting of the Committee for the evaluation of the execution and implementation of the Convention (CRIC 7), which right away followed the CST-S1, the delegates decided on reporting philosophy that will gauge development in the execution and implantation of the Convention.
