THERE IS NO DIALOGUE IN THE FILM! The story is told by the music in the back ground and lyrics. Cumbia Callera is romantic film. La Cori is flamboyant youth and a real beauty in herself. The problem starts when a middle class boy El Neto falls victim to her looks. El Neto is a small time filmmaker. Her passion for La Cori forces him to follow her everywhere. He films her when she is dancing, focuses her twisting belly, her bare legs and then tries to feel her, replaying the movie at home. His wishes come true as a wisp of air lifts her skirt up. He smiles to himself capturing the moment. Once El Neto finds La Cori’s shoe and carefully places it in his bag. His round the clock filming makes him bypass Cori’s body, he starts wanting Cori from his soul. However there is one obstacle in his way in the shape of ‘El Guipiri’ who is Cori’s lover. ‘El Guipiri’s’ presence completes the love triangle. Cumbia Callera is all about the pain love gives and the pleasure labor of love brings.
