Cynicism

Cynicism is Greek word which actually includes several philosophies of ancient Greek’s group. The name of this group was Cynics which was founded in BCs around in its forth century by the “Antisthenes”. Whether of religion, conventions, dress, housing, manners, decency and advocating the search of assets in an un-materialistic and simple lifestyle are being rejected by the Cynics.

Now the question is that why this word has become one of the top searching terms on Google. The reason is that the word “Cynicism” has been used by Conan O’Brien in his last statement which was given in the show of Friday “Tonight Show”. He said in his statement that he hates Cynicism and it has been declared as his smallest quality by him. He further said in his statement to his fans that do not be Cynical.

A very different and a new understanding of Cynicism, was led by the negative aspects of the philosophy of Cynic that emphasis by the start of 19th century which developed negativity of Cynical attitude. Modern Cynicism is a disbelief in the direction of social and ethical values being a society’s mass product, especially when high expectations of the authorities, institution and society are there which can not be fulfilled.

Cynicism can be seen in the result of disillusionment, frustration and disbelief professed due to the authorities, organizations and other areas of the society. Traditional values of the society are rejected by the early Cynics and certain types of the behaviors would be criticized by them.
