Darius Rucker, the only African American who managed to win a category in Country Music Association Awards 2009 otherwise it was all Taylor Swift’s Show. The singer famous as a lead singer and guitarist and now a solo performer secured the New Artist of the Year 2009 title of CMA.
Darius Rucker has just managed to record his name as a second African American artist who won a major title of Country Music Association. He set a history by winning the first ever New Artist of the Year Award by an African American Singer.
Darius Rucker was known as a lead singer and rhythm guitarist in Hootie and the Blowfish but he has to face lots of critics when he started his career as a solo performer. However his first album as a solo singer turned into a dream come true for him as three of his tracks from the album grabbed the first position at the charts. The Debut album is surely a reason behind winning the milestone of New Artist of the Year 2009.
