Police announces the arrest of Daryl Anthony Priestley in the murder of a college student.
17-years-old Daryl Anthony Priestley is from McDonough, which is also the hometown of the deceased college student Brandie Danielle Davis. Daryl Anthony Priestley is charged with felony assassination, says the Statesboro Police Chief.
According to the details, Brandie Danielle Davis was found dead in her Campus Crossings apartment on December 8 after her relatives showed concern to the police that they have not heard from her for several days. She was killed in a strangulation murder. Davis was a student of Ogeechee Technical College and the news of her murder frightened fellow students. Police and investigators had been watching Daryl Anthony Priestley for past few weeks. Statesboro Police officials travelled to McDonough along with investigators to interview Priestley earlier this week. The arrest was made after the interview. He was arrested at Henry County Police Department and was later moved to Bulloch County Jail.
The news of his arrest was announced on Tuesday by Statesboro Police Chief Stan York in a press release. ‘We followed where the evidence led us, and we developed a person of interest,’ says the States Police Chief. He didn’t reveal any details about the investigation. However, initial reports states that Daryl Anthony Priestley and Brandie Davis went to same high school. Friends and family denied the rumors of Davis relationship with Priestley while police and investigators believe that they were ‘acquaintances’.
Daryl Anthony Priestley is reported to be lived at Avenue at Southern Statesboro and is a student of East Georgia College.
