Dave Brubeck one of the five nominees of 32nd Annual Kennedy Center Honors was awarded with the honors on the 6th of this month in D.C in a ceremony. The U.S musician and pianist received tribute for his lifetime contributions to American culture via arts.
89-year-old Dave Brubeck was awarded the honor for the unconventional and unique style of music ranging from variant to sophisticate and natural to classic. Dave Brubeck has his own style or trademark presentation of his compositions that includes rhythm and a versatile cadence.
Dave Brubeck contributions in jazz will always be remembered. His contributed jazz songs have helped shaped the U.S jazz scene. “Time Out” is one of his famous albums of all time, but there are several more pieces of art that Brubeck has contributed to the American culture over the years.
President Obama, first lady and Vice President Joe Biden attended the 32nd Annual Kennedy Center Honors in which Dace was honored with the award. Other honourees beside Dave Brubeck were Grace Bumbry “opera singer”, Bruce Springsteen “Rock Singer”, Mel Brooks “comedian, producer, actor” and Veteran Actor Robert DeNiro.
The award ceremony was aired on CBS Network yesterday on 29th December.
Every honouree was paid tribute individually by the performers present at the event. The performers include Sting, Jack Black, Eddie Vedder, Martin Scorsese, Matthew Broderick, Martin Short, Harry Connick, Jon Stewart, Jr., Sharon Stone, Melissa Etheridge, Ben Stiller, Ben Harper, Meryl Streep, Harvey Keitel, Aretha Franklin, Carl Reiner, John Mellencamp, Herbie Hancock, Frank Langella and Edward Norton.
The ceremony was a treat to watch, we congratulate all five honourees of Kennedy Center Honors.
