The Day of the Dead is a public holiday. This holiday is mostly celebrated in the United States, Mexico and Canada. On this event the family members of the deceased people gather together and pray for their deceased relative. The day is usually celebrated on first and second November. The day is supposed to be similar to Halloween and come after the Halloween is celebrated. The Brazilian people also celebrate a day such as the day of the dead. The Brazilian people call it the Dia de Finados.
The people in Brazil visit the graves of the deceased people and also attend the churches. The day of the day is supposed to have started from the Mexican civilization. The people used to celebrate this event for a month and show respect to the goddess by displaying skulls. The people in Mexico celebrate this day on first and second of November. The first day they offer rituals to the deceased children. The second day they honor their ancestors. They believe that they actually communicate with the dad people on this day. The relatives of the dead people decorate their graves and put flower on them. They offer alcoholic drinks at the graves of adults and candies at the grave of children’s.
On the Day of the Dead the people usually have picnics at the graves. The Day of the Dead is represented with a skull. In the United States Texas is found with celebrating the same rituals as in Mexico. Texas was a part of Mexico so most of the people have the same culture. While in other states it is only celebrated by graphic decorations.
