Somebody shouted, “Derrion, get up!” Derrion Albert 16 of Fenger High School was taking his last breaths; he did not survive the weekend violence at the school. The motive of murder is unclear but the police have obtained an amateur video showing dozens of people involved in the brawl and chaos outside the school with students yelling at each other and cars honking horns. The faces in the video are not very much clear, however the police has been able to pin point few students and investigations are underway according to Gabrielle Lesniak of Chicago Police, News Affairs Department.
The police are of the view that the brawl was the result of tension between two gangs of the city one of which belonged to the fenger High School. It is speculated that Derrion Albert reportedly refused to join the gang and was beaten because of his refusal but video shows otherwise. Derrion tried to help another fellow student and got caught in the brawl. Somebody is seen striking the back of Derrion’s head with huge wooden plank as he fell down on the ground he was kicked several times mercilessly; it is believed that the blow of the head may have proven fatal.
Unfortunately the fight at the Fenger High School is not a solitary event and some 10 people got killed in city involving different events during this weekend.
The funeral service has been delayed till Monday at the combined request of School’s in Chicago.
