Diane Arbus was born on the 14th of March, 1923. She was famous for her black and white photography. She was born in the New York state. Diane Arbus said that “I am afraid that I would be known simply as a photographer of freaks”. She mainly took the photographs of marginal, abnormal, dwarfs, nudists etc. There were many exhibitions held of Diane’s photography. She did a good work in her field, although she was made the target of a lot of criticism but her photography fans never stopped visiting her exhibitions. She died on the 26th of June, 1971, in Greenwich Village in NY. She committed suicide at the age of forty eight. Diane’s husband also noticed that dramatic sudden changes took place in her mood and she also said that she went up and down a lot. She became a sort of a psycho and she took her life with cutting her wrists with a razor and ingesting barbiturates, two days later her body was found in the bathtub of her house by Marvin Israel. The Jew photographer was the daughter of Gertrude Russek Nemerov & David Nemerov. Her parents lived in the New York City and they owned a departmental store named Russek’s. Diane’s mental problems started in the 1930′s due to belonging to a rich family and she became the target of depression. Her father after being retired from the departmental store job he became a painter. Diane Arbus married her love Allan Arbus at the age of eighteen years.
