“Katherine Bigelow” becomes the first female director to win Directors Guild Awards 2010 for the movie “The Hurt Locker”. The movie is based on a story about “Iraq war” written by “Mark Boal”. Katherine was able to surpass his ex-husband James Cameron who was also a nominee for much acclaimed “Avatar” that has set a new record at box office earnings. The other nominees were “Quentin Tarantino” for “Inglorious Basterds”, “Jason Reitman” for “Up in the air” and “Lee Daniels” for “precious”.
The recipient of Directors Guild award 2010 is sure to be nominated for Academy awards as per tradition.
“Angelina Jolie” and “Brad Pitt” were seen very much together at the ceremony despite the news of their eventual breakup.
